For about the last 8 hours, the DPC site has been REALLY sluggish for me, both at home and work. Other sites perform as usual, so it's not my connection. Anybody else seeing this? |

It's that way for me, too. Thought it was just my slow computer at work... ;o)

DPC will be moving to a new, dedicated server in the coming weeks. That should provide at least a small increase in overall speed. If you notice any specific pages behaving slower than normal, let us know so we can look into it.

Good to know, Drew. The slowdown I'm seeing is sporadic and site-wide. I've had thread posts and even the home page time out repeatedly on fast broadband connections. |

That was the worst time, but I saw it again about 8:30 this morning. |

Do you folks ever sleep, LOL?
I have seen signs of sluggishness, mostly manifested by a few thumbs or images in forum posts that load reluctantly. Of course, this affects the menu, since the menu is not displayed until the last graphic loads.

Last night around 2 AM eastern, (10, my time ;.)) we were looking at galleries (specifically, lowest scoring) and I just had to quit. Tried other pages, site "ground to a halt" for me.
This also happened last Tuesday evening IIRC. |

Are you saying that DPC is running in a shared environment now? Or simply that it'll be a *new* dedicated server, as the current one is also dedicated (but not very fast, not on a fast connection, etc)?
If this is running in a shared environment, I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has :) |

Shared, but minimally shared. |

Has the switch to the new server been made? Things slowed to a crawl late last night but seem VERY FAST this morning. |

Same here. Last night I gave up it was so slow; today things are fine.
Edit: I also got a message that stated "too many users" or something to that effect, which I hadn't seen before.

I saw LOTS of "too many connected users" messages last night. Some people noted that their stats were unavailable this morning (presumably also because the server was overwhelmed). |

I've had that happen a few times. The IT guys at work even blocked access on my work computer! Apparently a few months ago I was visiting the site too much! lol |
