I decided to go with something a little more personal but I like this shot considering how mundane the object is. I've been practicing with the + and - EV setting on my camera to get a nice white background.

Wow! I really like that. I like the shallow DOF and the crisp white background.

Thanks everybody who responded. I was feeling a bit bummed because I thought no one had looked. I was just about to repost the thumbnail on the "how's everyone doing" thread for some sympathy comments (shameless) but I figured I better check the cross-thread first and make sure there hadn't been some responses while I was off-line.

I really liked this shot a lot but I went for the more personal, slightly less mundane object shot I took the same day.

Thanks Laurie! I actually have some great macro IV shots--I can't choose! I think that challenge is what is going to lift me out of my slump (oh please, please). I'm not daring to hope for a ribbon at this point but I think I'm progressing in that direction.

I'm really having fun with my new little camera and I didn't even have to lay out a lot of scratch for it. $200.

Now I kind of wish I entered this shot for Everyday Object. My husband and kids really liked it also, but they also liked the one I entered. I need to find a more obective non-DPC feedback person to show my stuff to before entering.
