Every now and then, I come up with a photo that I feel has fits into 'my best works' category. This photo, for various reasons, is probalby one of my personal top 5 best images....

I don't think its often a b&w rendition of a flower looks really (really) good but that is fantastic:) would love to see the orig, or would that spoil my awe of this?

No.. post processing included the addition of a gaussian blur layer...

As you can see, my black foamcore didn't cover the entire frame like i had planned, so i had to fix the bottom left corner a little. There are also a couple 'spots' on the flower itself that i cleaned up for presentation...

One last question John. How did you light the subject. What kind of lighting setup and what power (watts)?

It was taken outside in natural overcast sky light. I just took a piece of foamcore board out with me to use as a dark background. No additional artificial light and no reflectors.

Thanks John, the colour pic is excellent but the B&W version adds that little bit extra :)

Very Beautiful and inspiring, John. I like B&W floral shots when done well and this is just perfect. I especially like the softness you achieved. I've tried my hand at a few of them myself and your shot gives me some new ideas to try to make them better. Thanks for sharing! :)
