I tried to think of things that I consider everyday...like Riggs' bathroom tissue, faidoi's spork...and I thought about:

soap, toothbrush, hairbrush, telephone, camera, light bulb, paper, pen/pencil...but every one of these could be completely UN-everyday to at least some part of the universe...so I am at a creative standstill. I'll think about it after I come up with my album cover shot...after all, as Scarlett says, "tomorrow is another day." LOL ;o)

Yep, that was me for quite a while -- but the ideas they do come. :D

I came up with an object (well, several actually, but I am only going to use one) that is completely recognizable to everyone on the planet -- with the exception of the outliers. But I think we can exclude from consideration those with mental or perception disorders or disabilities and monks living in isolation for centuries.

Now all I have to do is make it the focal point of an interesting composition.

However, sometimes it's hard to know what does and doesn't fit the challenge beforehand. People do some very creative stuff that really makes me see things in a different way, even though I never would've thought it would work. As long as it's a good shot that communicates the theme somehow, I'm happy. :)

I totally agree!

but I don't see ANY kids, cats, dogs or flowers in my life everyday or at all for that matter.

Agree.

Pretty much anything rome A to Z with some common sense used when picking the subject. I mean, just because I have a pet AARDWOLF and drive a ZAMBONI to work every day, doesn't mean that anyone else has EVER seen one, much less daily.

My interpretation...

'Everyday' isn't the same as 'every day'... I don't need to see the object every day in order for it to be common (=everyday).

'Object'? I guess I can submit a portrait of my wife, since she's the object of my affection (Honey: I hope you're reading this...)

Some people have their pants on too tight here. As people have said this is very open ended. If I think about it .. I probably see over 50 flowers a day .. and just because I dont eat with it or use it directly it doesn't mean to ME that it isn't an every day object. I dont have a wife or a cat or dog .. but I can appreciate that to somebody those things are every day objects, and the word "object" I think is used to allow almost anything ... flowers, people, animals, forks, anything .. because technically almost anything can be classified as an object (I realize there are many exceptions).

I guess I'm writting this to just state my view on this .. if you take a picture of a cat, your wife or a flower and the picture is awesome I'll give it a good score. If you take a picture of a Ferrari Enzo ... as much as I love that car .. I dont think that is everyday. I'm not telling people how to think or vote .. just saying what I'm going to do.

Cheers,
Mike

Couldn't agree more, well said cooliak.

But, after Everyday Objects is over, is it ok if I send a nasty-toned PM to everyone who put the same subject into Everyday Objects and into Extraordinary??? hehehehe
