I decided on going with a photo with a little more "wow"... this was shot late in the evening and there are a couple things I would have lit better, but thought I'd offer it up anyway. my "stylist" for the evening did a great job setting up this shot. :)

thanks for looking :)

I would have given this a solid 10, so I hope your other shot was equal or better :) I love the simplicity and zen-like setup here, and your color and lighting are perfect. I debated the idea of suggesting a tighter crop, but I'm on the fence on the issue. Excellent shot!

thanks for the comment. I'll have to look at a slightly tighter crop. I may print this one :)

Very interesting...love the lighting and the composition; I am wondering how the tighter crop might look as well, along with maybe a slightly different angle, more above looking down over to really see the detail in the chocolate, especially what's drizzled over them. You kind of lose a bit of that detail from the angle chosen. However, that said, it's still very visually appealing and would have garnered a high score from me. The touch of color from the cup adds just the right zing. Great shot! :o)

NOOOO!!! I've commented on many Chocolate entries about how thight the crop was to me!! Give the subject air, let it breathe!
or am I too paranoid about this?

I would have given it a 10 and I would never regret it! Just like carlos, I agree that you should never crop the picture right on the edge of the subject. Its not always bad but in this case its perfect. Great picture, I know it would have done well had you submitted it. I am looking forward to seeing your next photo. :)
