My wife and I had taken our daughter to the beach last week. I received a phone call from my Dad telling me that my grandmother had passed away so we returned home. We interred her body yesterday. I only share this because DPC is a community that I interact with and while I'm not looking for traffic to my blog I also am proud of my grandmother and am happy to share some of my knowledge of her with people I speak or write to. She lived to be 92 years old and was a wonderful lady for my whole lifetime and beyond. I've included a link to the eulogy I gave at her service. If anyone is interested it describes her as I knew her.

When I ponder the memories we made together I feel sad and feel the sense of loss but when I consider her life and her current state I have peace and joy and I believe that I will see her again.

I truly believe that death is a transition, not an ending - your beloved grandmother is beginning a wonderful new journey. However, that does not diminish the feeling of loss you must feel without her presence in your daily life (at least in the traditional sense). Please accept my sincere sympathy, Kevin.

Brought tears to my eyes; so close to all our hearts that have had someone like this in our lives. I believe also that she is still here with you all, but just residing in a different place now. God bless.
