I would like to see a feature added that would let me know when someone left a comment on one of my portfolio pics. I was looking thru them the other day and happened upon a very nice comment but I would have never known had I not been looking in the first place. I'd sure be willing to make a donation for that! |

Even if there was a simple list stating the name of the picture and how many times it was added by someone would be helpful for the portfolio shots since there is already that feature in the challenges.
But I would vote yes to your suggestion. |

If you click on the "Comments Received" number in your profile you will see the most recent comments you have gotten, both for challenge and portfolio pix.

Some people just choose a favorite and don't leave a comment so you have to hunt for the one that is a favorite. I think. I could be wrong.
oops typed b4 you edited your post.

not comments - added to favorites...
if you dont check the recently added favorites page at the right time - you have to look at all your photos to find which it was... i am always curious which one it was...

Hey all,
I know it looks like not a lot is happeneng with site changes right now, but actually that is not the case at all. Right now (and for the past few weeks), DPC Prints is undergoing a substantial overhaul to make the site friendlier to both buyers and sellers. This is a very intensive project that will continue to take nearly all of Langdon and Drew's attention for at least the next few weeks. As a result, most non-critical, non-trivial site changes have been postponed until that upgrade is complete.
In the meantime, Site Council continues to discuss and prioritize site updates, which will resume shortly after the Prints overhaul goes live (and any immediate bugs are worked out).
Among the updates already "on the list" or under discussion for DPChallenge are:
* An update to the Favorites viewer (to include some way to see portfolio images selected as favorites)
* Forum updates (including tools to allow users to efficiently report abuses of the forums)
* Revisions to the challenge submission process to help reduce accidental rules violations
* A substantial overhaul to Critique Club
Please bear with us for the next several weeks; we promise to do our best to make the changes to DPCPrints and DPChallenge worth the wait.

i understand - and don't expect this to be added today or whenever. just trying to get some realistic insight as to how well this particular option would be received.

I'm confident in saying this will happen as we all agree it's needed. I'm personally hoping this will be one of the first updates after the Prints update, but that's in part because the whole Favorites feature is my baby in the first place.

You know what i would pay 5.00 more for?
The little graph at the end of the challenge tha shows how many 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10's you got. But you should be able to see it at all times. as the challenge is running. Maybe put the link beside the update button. I think that would make it more fun knowing what kind of marks your getting all week.

I don't think paying extra for this feature(s) is appropriate. Popular suggestions made by members should be enough to inspire the site creators to add them. If you don't provide what the customer craves you'll (eventually) lose your customers. Simple as that.

The money is not the issue.... again, as I mentioned, once the DPC Prints update goes live, we'll be back in full swing with the site updates.

Well yes and no. This site is more of a "mom and pops" website. The programmers who make the changes are the ones who run it. Therefore there is no(?) cost to making changes. Just time the admins spend on upgrading it.
Now if whoever programs the site gets paid for doing it then yeah it does cost cash, but even so, not enough where the members should have to pay extra for new features. New features are expected. They also help to get the users to become members. The profits would be from the people who bite the bullet and decide to join after lurking as a registered user for x months. Not to mention the renewals when that comes time for the current members. If they aren't happy, they won't renew.
