Ummm ... Anomimo the last time i checked COKE is a word. And i remember the pic you are talking about and its a great pic. So yes a picture witha WORD or WORDS in it (like Coke) does meat the challenge.

While I like the photo and probably would have given it a 7, this would be a photo that I would request a DQ on. To my eyes it's just a literal representation of another work.

I'm actually higher than any of my others right now, but the trend is that I drop about 1.0 before the challenge is over, so I'll be right at the bottom of my pile then... I did get three comments though, so I'm all excited. I love comments! Speaking of which, I'll go back for round two of mine. :) |

"Take a photograph where complete words -- not just individual letters -- play a creative role in your composition." A picture of a logo or product doesn't meet the challenge unless the words play a creative role in the composition. I know which photo that is as well, and I didn't think it met the challenge. How is taking a picture of someone else's art being creative?

If you "know what photo that is" then you should not be discussing it here in the forums until the voting is over. If you feel a photo violates the "other artwork" rule, recommend a DQ, VOTE AS IF IT IS LEGAL, and move on. If it is adjudged in violation of the rules, it will be tossed, if not it will get a fair vote. |

It's getting better, and the comments are really really really nice. So I am not disappointed anymore, quite happy instead.

Just voted them all, there is some great pictures in there, but there is also alot of them that have no words at all, or that doesn't fit the challenge at all.

so far, so good (which is welcomed after dipping below a 5 for the first time on a challenge last month - until I took the photo, I had never ever seen a snail on a leaf before - apparently, you all have seen it lots - not that extraordinary :)

| I really was not all that impressed with the picture I submitted, but it's sitting at a comfortable 6.7 right now.. Hmmm.. I really thought the pictures I've submitted in the past were far better than this one. Maybe I should start taking what I think are crappy pictures and everyone else will like them ;) |

well, dont look at it like you are taking crappy pictures. everyone is different, so just because you think its bad doesnt mean others think that way....maybe its possible that you're learning and you dont even realize it...:)

This is the 6th challenge I've entered and I was rather pleased with my entry but the score is disappointing. However, what I find even moreso is that I have only ONE comment. Every other challenge I have averaged about a dozen. Oh well.....

oh well... as you say not to worry, you are not alone if no one comment how am i to know what im getting wrong, obvioulsy something. Having just started out with the dslr it would be nice for some feedback as to what im getting right/wrong so i can improve. |

I came across this today and had to take the shot. Too late for Words, but I wonder (given my current 4.8xxx score) what this might have brought me, had I taken it in time for the challenge. What would you have given it?
