The Shining is one of my fave movies of all time "Honey....I'm home" - just love it. My other fave is Linda Blair as Regan in The Exorcist.

Wow! You guys have named some really great movies! Now I need to go to blockbuster! I haven't seen, Michael J. Fox anywhere on the list,

Bjork in Dancer in the Dark (No one will ever top that performance)
Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth, Coffee and Cigarettes (and virtually anything she's in)
Ellen Burstyn Requiem for a Dream

Ditto. I can't believe I forgot that Ellen Burstyn role - it's one of the best I've ever seen. Jennifer Connelly was great in that too, but I was amazed by her performance in A Beautiful Mind, which I also forgot to mention.
How about Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird? If I sit at the computer long enough, I'll just keep adding names and roles to this list. Maybe I should take a break. :-)

I've always thought that was the best movie based on a Stephen King story ever made, period, based mostly on Jack Nicholson's performance. But from what I've heard, Stephen King hated it. Go figure... |
