It's long because it's not a movie, it's a mini-series. :-) |

You missed what I believe to be his most important role. His post-humous role.

Juliet Lewis in everything she̢۪s ever done.
The entire cast of Lord of the Rings (worth repeating)
Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Murray in Caddyshack
The drill sergeant in Full Metal Jacket (don̢۪t know his name)

Sandra Bullock in pretty much anything she's cast.
Hugh Grant in pretty much anything though he seems to get cast for characters with similar personalities.

Let's see. I'm the movieman, so my opinion counts more than any of yours. :)
Uh,
Bjork in Dancer in the Dark (No one will ever top that performance)
Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth, Coffee and Cigarettes (and virtually anything she's in)
Ellen Burstyn Requiem for a Dream
My mind is fried, maybe I'll think of some more later.

Ditto. I can't believe I forgot that Ellen Burstyn role - it's one of the best I've ever seen. Jennifer Connelly was great in that too, but I was amazed by her performance in A Beautiful Mind, which I also forgot to mention.
How about Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird? If I sit at the computer long enough, I'll just keep adding names and roles to this list. Maybe I should take a break. :-)

Kate Beckinsale in the Last Days Of Disco (should also go in the soundtrack thread)

I've always thought that was the best movie based on a Stephen King story ever made, period, based mostly on Jack Nicholson's performance. But from what I've heard, Stephen King hated it. Go figure... |
