So I tried something a little different!
At least it was in focus and it is NOT a fly as some seem to think
but a Bee!
But so many 1's 2's 3's I cant figure it out????
Back to the drawing board so to speak! |

Didn't vote, but it might have been the negative image editing. Not very many pictures get good scores when the colors have been altered like that.
Edit. Is this the one?

Yes Thanks!
It's had the colours desaturated in Arcsoft I just played with the levels until I got the purple |

I thought your picture was pretty good. I gave it a 6. I can't understand the way people vote around here. I got lot of low marks myself. You just have to hope that the people that put a little thought into each vote out weighs the people that don't have a clue how to vote.

I'm really tired of those that say that anyone that votes low on an image that they like themselves don't know how to vote. In the example posted, 48 people voted less than a four. A full 113 people voted less than a five. Does that mean that 113 idiots voted in this challenge? Or perhaps (heaven forbid!) the shot ended up where it should?
edited for clarity...

In an attempt to be "cruel to be kind", the photo wasn't all that good in the first place, and then you made it worse by doing the thing with the purple.
BTW Sally, I looked at your profile and I really like some of your work, I just think this wasn't one of your better attempts.

I'm not keen on the colourisation. Do you have the original? |

It's one of those good ideas that didn't work out quite as good as it seemed at first thought.
When you got the bee to be purple, the flower turned a rather un-appealing greyish color.
And the red background is almost scary.
This would have worked better leaving most of the image fairly normal, and just manipulating the bee.
I do the same thing, though. I get a cool idea, and I get fond of it (after all, it's MY idea!)
and don't want to let go of it. I'll overlook flaws and enter it anyway. Then the scoring and comments kill the romance.
(dam, he's right. I was so focused on my clever subject, I didn't notice that the composition sucks)
It's part of the learning process. I learn a lot from pictures that don't score well. But it's still a pain to score low.
