DQ'd for cloning. You've got to be kidding.
The 2nd horn and the leg. Ewwwww.
I should have sent in a shot of a pile of horse crap with a purple flower next to it. Seems like those shots are fine.
PS. Thanks to the folks who left such nice comments before the DQ. |

The site council's words, not mine:
This image has been disqualified for the following reason:
Cloning, dodging, and/or burning to remove imperfections and minor distracting elements is permitted, however using tools to duplicate, create, or move major elements of your photograph is not |

So you broke the rules then! After my original comment, I went back and reread the rules, which state very clearly that what you did is not allowed.

I think it's a matter of perspective. In one way, the moving of the leg and horn are moving major elements, but in another way, it was simply removing the distraction of the bars instead of moving the leg and horn. It's still a really cute shot. Sorry it was DQ'd Tom...that's a shame.

You gotta be 100% clear on the rules, Tom, because the site council will not make exceptions for anybody. I mean, they can't or it wouldn't be fair, right?
I know you're upset but DPC is still fun. Better luck next time :-) |

I learned my lesson also.
I am not comparing mine to yours, yours is much better...but just a reminder what you can and cant do.
Yours has a certain M.C. Escher feel to it....well done... sorry for the DQ.

Good idea, but poor execution, the editing is very noticable..if you print it you'll definetly see it. Anyway, you can't plead ignorance in traffic court so you can't here either [that seems to be a good enough reason]. If you layer the background with a copy, you can use the erase tool in PS to just remove the bar and then clone the skin tones, but that'd be a lot of work.....hmmm

My question is "why did you clone it in the first place?" |

Sorry about the DQ Tommy, I think you saved me the same fate.
I wanted to do a version of this picture using an apples and orange for the Freedom challenge (Freedom to be different)
Bannana/Orange
which would not have been within the rules.
(edited because I had my apples and oranges confused)

I liked it a lot. I was thinking most the afternoon about what the setup might look like, lighting, and what editing would be needed after shooting. I was almost ready to go in search of the perfect apples and oranges when I read this. I may still do it, only for fun. |

Go for it, get a knife, an apple and an orange. Instead of doing it in photoshop, start carving. While it'd be more work, it would be legal for the challange!! |
