or any other canon dslr...
either to check when buying a used cam or a new cam to make sure it is not a demo unit |

The Canon service centers can apparently provide this info, when the camera is in for repair. You can request it at the time (and you have to request it, they don't just provide it) - though if there is nothing else being done there is a charge for the reading.

The image count is in the filename unless you have it set to non-continuous (spelling)... |

I suppose zero was wondering in case the filenumber was reset.. |
