I would like to apologize to whoever's score I probly trashed. :( I hadn't looked thru the entries and I knew there'd be lots of animals, but not a shot that looks just like the one I posted. I have had this happen on a high scoring shot and I hated it. I made a mistake with the post and I know my apology won't fix the score, but I do apologize sincerely. :(

I haven`t had a chance to look through the submissions for the Free study yet..but by looking at the rejects, I`m getting the impression that I`m in for a treat.
Unfortunately, I didn`t get many pics taken this month and was struggling to come up with anything..these are two rejects

 | 2nd one would have got high marks from me Gordon, love the location.
Have you changed your profile pic? looks different,
Paul.

Thanks for the comments Paul
That`s an area called the "Sma glen" between Crieff and Amulree in Perthshire.
Yes, I changed it about two weeks ago as I was fed up with a "crabbit face" looking back at me, every time I was on the profile page. |

I know the feeling. My submission is currently at 4.5 and dropping fast. It is on its way to being my lowest scoring image, and my first below 5.0. I know it would when I submitted it... (...hoped it wouldn't -- but, knew it would). :(

Good shots. I like the gritty, earthy nature of the photographs as well as your subjects and your treatment - dark earth colors, grain ... etc. Simple folks ... stunning photography. Unfortunately, seldom photos like these score high in the challenges ... sometimes they do, but as you've ranted and raved in other forum topics yourself, we like calendar types of photos here, not reality. After all, this site is a wonderful form of escape. We see enough reality in our real lives. :-). There, I ranted myself too. I have a similar posting in the June free challenge, but the readers I guess don't like the gritty nature of the subject and it's hovering at 5.0 right now. |

I agree, that's why they are rejects and I decided to submit something else. Even if my submission still isn't cute postcards material atleast it's a "cute haha" shot, right now I'm at 6,3. Even if I prefere some of my rejects to my submission I don't think any of them would of made better. |

One of my rejects, I'm still studing night shots. My final wasn't a night shot.

Ami...it's so bizarre that I have one of those as a reject as well...
Great minds think alike, you know... :o) |
Haha! When'd you take that, Laurie? I was in downtown Dallas last weekend and it was raining. -_-

*sighs* Same here. From the responses here I should have submitted "Gathering Storm" but no, I went with one that IS perfect in almost EVERY way except for one small thing (which really takes nothing away) and one other thing that I bet is the reason I am scoring a 5.3, but I can't say it cause it'd give it away. *frowns*

Ami...I took mine on the previous weekend...and it was raining. It rained 20 of the 30 days of June in the DFW area. I never thought I would see the day we Texans would pray for sun during the summer! LOL

Wow, lol, well my friend's wedding was last weekend, but thankfully it was inside. Heh, I guess I should be glad, no? It got me a great shot. (Which I now regret not submitting...)

I would've went with this one, but I like the edited version so much better. I figured the edited would be voted down due to the colors, it's within the rules (level adjustment) but still.

Any particular reason you didn't choose this one? |
I like my current submission better... plus I've been submitting a lot of baseball shots recently and wanted to submit something different.
