		| Just curious as to what other people are getting with their Portrait submissions. I am currently sitting at 6.01... I am happy with the score, but I am most pleased with my 37 comments. I've gotten some nice ones from photographers I really respect. |

  and only 12 comments! -- I don't mind poor scores, I'm here to learn and pretty new at all this editing (I tend to over do it) but it seems that if I score something below a 5 I almost always comment!

 I'm starting to think its personal

 I imagine lots of folks are gonna get oodles & noodles of comments on this challenge for the following reasons;
 1. not too many entries makes it easier for folks to aspire to vote on all (like myself)
 2. the shots are really great!

 Good luck everyone!

 If an error can result in a 6.2, I certainly hope you share what it is. :p

 I`m very pleased with this as it`s only my second attempt at portraiture and I don`t have any studio facilities or equipment.
 I have had some comments telling me that points have been deducted for things I know I could have eliminated with the proper equipment..however,I did expect these criticisms and a whole lot more...so I`m far from disappointed. |

 Care Factor  ... well, maybe a little ... let's say 20%

 Yeah... I'll match you care factor of 20%... Why else would I be waiting for my first comment to explain the low score. Mine is the photograph. ;)

		i was really amazed at how much more challenging it was to remain objective when looking at peoples faces rather than the "standard set" of photos. there was always this subjective urge to vote on the quality (read: beauty)of the person rather than the quality of the photo itself. very interesting phenomenon. anyone else find this happening to them?

 yes ... It took my longer to vote because I went slower just to make sure I was being fair. |

 I think I'm going to break my old record for most comments received if this keeps up! :)

 EDIT:
 And I may also surpass the number of favorites for a single shot in my portfolio. Double :)

 My score is actually dead in the middle of the 1-10 scale. But I'm happy enough with the score. My entry is actually doing better than I expected. It's my first time doing a portrait, I didn't have much time to work on it (as usual), and I had to use a cheap halogen work light.

 But, my new AlienBees studio lighting arrived yesterday! I've now got monolights, boom stands, and softboxes! Can we have another portrait challenge in a few weeks? :)
