They look like those plasma globes...very interesting color. You might want to level the shot up a tad; one eye is lower than the other. The wisp of hair in the top right is a bit distracting as well. It definitely meets the challenge. :o)

How do I level it up? To make it even? I still have to figure that out. still new to all the editing stuff.

I use Photoshop 6...go into IMAGE>>ROTATE and you can choose how much to rotate the shot. It looks like only one or two degrees counter clockwise should do it. Then recrop it to your liking. :o)

Hmmmmm....best to get real purple contacts for a photo submissions...advoid doing this with PS or other application as some sort. Some may concidered this as digital art and not photograghy (you have added non exsisting color to your image)...might get hammered...However, there are a few and some who will give you great comments too...just something to think about. However, if it's nicely done it would be neat to have and to share with others..in a challenge I don't think it will do good...to be honest...Why I don't, is because of "photo integrity" that a photo must have.. A lot of voters feel this way and not really room for any artistical works from your images... As a member, you can upload your other photos such as this and label your folder like digital art. There are folks like me who do enjoy creating art work forms from photos & to view. I do hope that you find a place here to futher your learning and have some fun....:) Here's mine version for the March Free Study Challenge. See the results..

Laurie,

See - you win a ribbon or two - and you become an "expert!" Fun, right?

Crazycrystal,

But seriously, the eye at different verical positioning does not bother me. I think it would be boring if the eyes were perfectly "level." But , I agree with Laurie in that the black triangle in the upper right corner is distracting.

Finally - the biggest problem I have is that the eye color is just not natural. It looks like you are desperately trying to satisfy the color purple. If the color is natural, please apologize to your model for me.

-Tom-

I see where you are going with this...Great Idea!!...Perhaps bring out your eye more...Just a tad...it took me about 4 minutes to figure out what was in there..also, maybe, but for real, leave more area to show the frames from the sunglasses...Perhaps, not a alot of darkness surrounding your object...give the viewer a sence of direction, but at the same time give them something to ponder about too...i have the image in my head how I would re-do this...but in words...here goes...reshoot model with glasses, focus on the eye in the background at the same time have more detail and a clearer image of a landscape as you have done here. Not to forget reflections as they add more to it as well. Truthfully, I see you have creativity and I hope that I have helped a bit or even came close to discribe what I can see out of this...That's what's wrong with right-sided thinkers..We don't think, just know how to draw it out. :) Have fun!!!

Ha - cute! But I just went to your photo-a-day and found a real interesting juxtaposition. Look at the aquarium picture with the albino catfish and the child. Doesn't it look like the dorsal fin is the girl's? hand!?? Was that on purpose or...?

It does, doesn't it? I thought she looked like she was kissing the fishy...but in the dark room with no tripod and wrestling with two of my three kids, I was lucky to get what I did! :o) LOL

Ok, in the first picture of the eyes..the model is me..:D and my eyes are a violet/blue color. It didn't take much to change the color. However, the black triangle..it's my hair...I tried to get rid of it..but then it looks too cropped..here is a final image..with a frame. not sure what to think. just for fun. NOW..the reflection picture is also me...I was getting bored on the trip home from our Florida vacation the other day..and started taking pics of myself. this is the best I got..and the frames are black. BUT, i'm glad you all like my pictures. AND CONGRATS LAURIE ON THE BLUE!!!!My website
also, just a note..I do like to play with the eye color on pictures..it makes it fun I think. Like I know that i could make my eyes red or green or even bright yellow. But this is closer to my natural eye color. Anyway..just a note.

Thanks so much! I appreciate that...the eyes look better to me level but each person has their own taste.

I like the unique perspective of the shot with the sunglasses reflection. It's kind of difficult to see at first...you have to really look, then lo and behold, there's your eye! Very unusual; with a bit of tweaking to the levels and such it would be even better.

I am a photoshop novice (and photography novice, for that matter). I have absolutely no training, and what I have figured out has come from just "playing." I have come to learn that you really can't screw it up (the program)...just open up a copy of a picture (save your original if you plan on submitting it) and go to town. I learn something new about it each time I use it. Look at the photos on the site; most have had some sort of editing, most through photoshop. Read the tutorials and how-tos on the site. Have fun. I'm having a blast! :o)
