Gee - you mean like "You used a paid model, so it doesn't meet the challenge of a 'free' study?" |
Yup, that is one good one.
Here are some other reasons:
1-It is a pet/child/flower picture and I don't like them
2-It is not creative enough
3-It is better than my picture
4-Looks like a picture taken in December
5-I'm grumpy and have not had my coffee yet
6-Looks like it was taken with a more expensive camera than I have
I'm sure there are many other legitimate reasons. Care to list any?

Darn! My husband just let me know that we are going to take our trip to Catalina Island and Orange County (great beaches) the last week of June (just into July) instead of in the middle. My great chance to take a June picture of some beautiful places . . . . gone. Oh well, maybe next time!

Yes, I thought of that (actually, we will have a laptop with us), but my husband is already about to strangle me if he hears one more peep about DPC! LOL. Because he doesn't "do digital" or any other graphics, he doesn't have any software on the laptop that I can use to crop, resize, etc. I'll just tell everyone here when I get back that I finally shot that "10" (yeah, right).
OH NO . . . . . . how will I live without DPC for a week????

LOL!! Yesterday felt like Sunday here in the US, with Memorial Day and my daughter being out of school now. I only just realized it, too!!

Yes! This is a perfect time, I am taking vacation from June 11 to July 7 and traveling out in Arizona, Utah, California, and maybe a few other places...Hopefully I can get online at the end of June(don't exactly know where I will be at that time) and submit something!

Would love to, but I won't be out in California at that time. :( My best friend is getting married in Tennessee that weekend so that is where my vacation is starting. Thanks for informing me though. It would have been fun.

A quick, cursory glance over the results of the previous free studies has given me these tidbits of information about the top ten photos for each...
7 have been animals or insects, 1 has been a baby, 2 have been flowers, 12 have been landscapes, 2 have involved water, 7 have been still life, 4 have been primarily architectural, 4 have been people portraits or candids, and there was one action shot. Don't quote me on the statistics...just a rough categorization.
So now I have a dilemma of what to enter, because I don't know if any of my "best" for the month fall in line here. Any ideas or thoughts? What do you see winning or placing in the top 10 for the free study?

I didn't worry about placing. I took a "fun" photo one day in early June and thought why not! I figure the competition on this one is so incredible, that I just decided to enter one that was different than anything I'd ever taken and hated to waste!

Mine will fit into the "none of the above" category. Care to join me?

A baby sitting next to a waterfall watching an animal eating an insect on a flower that is on a mountain side with a picnic basket with a bottle of wine and glasses in it in the foreground and a dog chasing butterflies.
And if you desaturate the dog....
That should do it. :) |

You really want to win it should be:
A blond baby sitting next to a waterfall watching a FROG eat a FLY or DRAGONFLY that is at the base of a mountain with snow capped peaks and marshmellow clouds and next to the baby is the beautiful model mother in a low cut dress, next to the picnic basket with a loaf of bread sticking out, pouring wine (be sure to capture the wine swirling in the glass) with a dog sitting next to her, while the CAT chases the BUTTERFLY (make sure it's a colorful one) and you capture the cat in mid-air as it jumps.
Easy as pie!
Deannda
And desaturate the picnic basket only ;) |

I put my entry in last week but looking at it now I may do a little more to it. then again, with my ps skills it would probably lower my score lol. My entry is a simple picture but hoping it will become my best score so far (and that aint hard). I too am looking forward to this but am off on a weeks holiday so shall miss the fun watching my score plummet but hope to be able to vote before I go away. |

They're using the fork to toast the marshmallow clouds over a candle. |
