So, I am very new to photography and not very computer savvy. I have taken some photos that I feel might be good for the June free challenge but I am unsure if they will break any of the editing rules. How do I get the photo validated. Do I need to submit it early? Can I use any of the artistic tools in photoshop or will that break the rules?

Rules (BASIC) are here:

You don't have to get the image validated. But you need the original intact, in case DPC wants to know more about the image. |

Thanks xion. So it appears that I can not use any filters except those specified in the basic rules.

June Free Study is an Advanced Rules challenge. there shouldn't be a problem using any filters you want.

Unless you use them "too much" and violate the "spirit of the rules" and are DQ'd anyway ... |

that's true. just using them to enhance an image and still keep the 'photographic integrity' wouldn't be a problem, though. |
