Does anyone know how to do a film frame in photoshop? Like when you develope a photo in the normal darkroom you can use the 6x6 mask and let the frame of the 35mm film be around the photo. |

I suggest either searching for some clip art or scan in a piece of film, and composite it with your photo. Probably the programs which add borders have that too. You can also construct one yourself in PS or an illustration program.
These borders (as I've described) are not legal for challenges though, even though almost any other bordering is ... |

In most cases when you see film frame around the photo, the film was simply scanned in a film scanner (flatbed). Uusually the frame is cropped off but ofcourse you don't have to.

toti,
I just recently picked up this book //shop.scottkelbybooks.com/detail.lasso?ID=BKO3-DDT7
Among others, this book describes in detail how you build a film-framed image as well as slide-mounted image. Lots of neat stuff in it.

I have this book, and it's fabulous, but creating a film-framed or slide-mounted image isn't in there. Maybe you have this one instead?

I'd like to know if there's enough new stuff in the CS book to warrant getting it in addition to the PS7 book.

Creating a slide mount is in Chapter 6 of the Down and Dirty Tricks for Photoshop 6.
