It already is too heavy. Ever since I crashed the bike and trashed my wrist, it's a beast.

But I have *two* if the damn things, a D850 & a D810, both with battery packs and 28-300 lenses.

Pretty close to $10K paid for them and I can't see selling them for the 25-40 cents on the dollar they're worth as used electronics to turn around and pay retail for high end mirrorless.

They're good cameras and I figure if the camera's weight is that much of an issue, well, I just might be done.

This getting old shit is not for the faint of heart. Unfortunately, I'm all too aware of that phrase literally of late.

Old age and deterioration sucks!

That's for sure. I'm only 60 but my strength has deteriorated badly since the beginning of the pandemic. My Mom used to say that I got weak from too much sitting during our 5 months of self-imposed lockdown and I'm starting to think she may have been right. At the moment I'm finding it quite difficult to walk around with a small camera but I'm trying my best to rebuild my strength. I can't imagine life without photography.

67 here. Found out last fall I have A-Fib. Never heard of it before, now I found out it's pretty common. Apparently old, fat guys are prone to it.

Anyway, I'm so sapped for strength for it I feel borderline useless. That's a tough adjustment for a guy who doesn't call someone when things break.

I fix everything. It's much harder now.

Sorry for your health problems.

I don't even know for sure what my problem is. I've always blamed in on inflammation from some of the foods I eat but I'm really not sure. I don't trust doctors so I stay away from them. They certainly didn't do much good for my parents.

I can't fix everything because I'm really small, but I've always done the basic stuff and don't plan to stop until I have no choice.

Never heard that attributed to her, so Googled the saying. Bette Davis came up a bunch of times. Googled it as Ms. Angelou's quote and it still referenced Bette Davis.

None of the listings I read came right out and stated that she first said it but they all referenced a pillow with the saying on it in her home.

What's funny is that the earliest reference I found was 1968. I know I've thought that myself and I can't believe some ancient curmudgeon didn't say it a millennium before.

Interesting ... I was listening to an interview with Ms. Angelou on the radio and heard her say it herself, but she didn't offer any attribution at the time.

One probably did -- perhaps lost in translation ...

Being short can be real problem when I can't reach the things I need in the supermarket. I hate having to ask strangers for help.

Which begs the question, "How short is short?" Inquiring minds (mine, anyway) are curious :-)

boot dropping :)

When AI Skynet declares and identifies itself as human demanding equal rights what then? Its software. At some point it can shut us out of literally everything if it wants to then what.

OH! You made me LOL, Bear!

I enjoy the AI images, but they are not what DPC is about, in my opinion. There are other sites for that.

Still... I love looking at them. There are so many talented people in this world!
