i looked it up ..
"A pous is a Greek foot."
it seemed to be the only word I could use to satisfy your requirement of having s vowel as the third letter ..
and I didn't want to offend anyone with what in going to put in now .. !! .. ;)

Say Roz, We're using the SCRABBLE Dictionary as our Rule Book. You could just leave the original 'O' in place at the third letter and insert a consonant at the second letter.
EVER is such a tricky word to get to and there are not many avenues to get to it. That's why that third letter has to be a vowel.
