Hi General,
Those are nice, but the sepia versions are my favorite among them. Very nice, rich tones. Wish they were smiling. :-)

I agree with jenesis, and find the sepia really stands out more. I don't usually favor sepia, but in this case, it really works. The contrasts aren't strong enough for me in the B & W.

Yeah, I'm with Kylie- the sepia brings out a more emotional feel and better contrast

thanks for comments
To be honest , circumstances in my life have made into a very introvert person. I don't like the idea of showing my photographs to any one in general but i am always really happy at posting at DPChallenge, here i dont need to beg to members to comment on them.

Members here are really great unlike some other forum , where i am member ,where people view and don't comment.

Long live DPchallenge.
God Bless all of you

I think that the black and white treatments feel more right for these shots, but they are a little low in contrast. Maybe play around with that layer a little...

Very nice portraits, I really like the sepia best! The sepia just gives them more feel and tones. The B&W are a little dull to me..

General...I like both the B&W, as well as, the sepia...no preference there. Just one thing to note about composition: There is a pole in the background that is sticking out of your subjects heads on quite a few of the shots. Try positioning your subjects to avoid that. I happen to like the background fence quite a lot as it's attractive without being too distracting.

Hey General - nice. I love B&W generally because it tends to convey emotion more so than colour. I tend to favour traditional B&W over sepia, however your sepias have nice tones and I lean towards them. Like others I think a little more contrast would benefit the B&W shots. Try using the channel mixer (if you use Photoshop) - with a little play you can achieve much better contrast than standard grayscale conversions. Check the Monochrome checkbox and then adjust the channel sliders so that the total of all three don't exceed 100%. For more extreme contrast you can break the 100% rule of thumb but generally keep the Red and Green channels on the + side and pull back on the Blue to the - side. I just find that it gives finer control of contrast.
Great work General :)

Thanks for comments,
I have been told about contrast issue, well new to conversion. I did using channel method, but i feel reason i am getting flat lighting is because i have retouched orginal for removing wrinkles and than did gaussian blur for soft focus.

I will keep trying learning bw conversion more very new to this field.

Anyone ever try digital tri-x, it is simply means making color image like film tri-x with noise.

any clues how to go about it.
