this young heron in trying to fish, had him and then lost him, the poor heron stuck his head back under not realizing the fish was flying above him, I think it is a fun capture, thought I would share, criticisms welcome. |

haha very funny...it is a little hard to recognize the fish but still a wonderful shot. :) Great capture!

it is 100-400mm L usm is ( though usually I am within 3-4ft of herons, I usually have to back up cuz I am too close
yes he fumbled a few fish, missed a couple but he did manage at end to catch some at the end
--most herons die at his age, due to starvation, their parents do not teach them how to fish and I guess it is not so easy : ) |

Great shots- the clarity is amazing! The second fish appears to be a flounder... I assume this was saltwater? |

The second fish is either a flounder or sole (both edible & quite yummy)
