Hey there! Promised more Gothic Lolita pictures from this weekend's concert, but I couldn't post them until after Waiting ended ;-). Darn dress.
These two are more typical examples. The girl on the left in the second picture is ESPECIALLY Lolita-like, while some of the others are not unlike some gothic clothing you'd see in the US.
Here's my friend dress in full. Taken one day before Selective De-sat, sigh.
And here's me. Here's one for the photographical debate files. I set the camera, chose the location, then handed the camera off to my friend. No tripod. Then I did all the post processing. So who's the photographer? I really like it, but I wouldn't put it up for Free Study or something, cause somehow... it just wouldn't feel right.
Please tell me what you think!
Thanks in advance,
Amanda |

Some good work, Amanda. I think the 'New Friend' shot is my favourite. I think I'd prefer the blue and red signs slightly more subdued though, which I think would be more inkeeping with the rest of the shot.
There's a great deal of scope with your subject, hope to see more. |

I'll comment on your last shot on the photo later (at work right now) but I love the 2nd shot. It encompasses several elements that show a slight trend towards the ecclectic in the Gothic Lolita styles selected by the subjects. I do like your 3rd shot but agree with Paul that the colored signs in this version seem somehow out of place.
Good work. Love the angles you're trying.

Those are really unique and visually interesting shots. I like the 2nd one best, I think. I also like your "almost" self-portrait. Very cool. Glad I don't have daughters, they'd want to run out and get one of those outfits and start that trend here! ;O)

She is my daughter and her little sister would love to dress up like her! Amanda, your "self" portrait is great, love the color you used. Don't think I'll make a point of showing it to you father however ;-) The one of Jess is good but the sign post is distracting. The bright colors over take the the picture, but I do like the "New Friend" message. Very approprate. The girls in the pictures are very beautiful. |

How lucky for both of you to be able to share a hobby and this site!
I have three sons, so I don't get to do any girly things with them like dress up...they are very low maintenance! But if I had a daughter, her daddy would have a fit with some of the styles these days even if I like them! LOL
I agree about the "don't show this to your father" part...I remember my dad telling me on more than one occasion (back in the day), "I don't know where you think you are going, but you aren't leaving until you go back in your room and put the rest of that dress on!" Dads are something else! ;o)

lookin' good. my favorite is the self portrait. it has the most out of the ordinary to it. the others are interesting as documents of the style. i'd love to see you do something with the lighting and positiong if at all possible. thanks for showing us these! :)

I think these are very cool. They remind me of my girlfriend in high school, except she had fuschia hair. Thanks for sharing.
