I wENT to shoot some photos for Springing of the Year and the following ENTered my mind. For The Springing of the Year (Archival), does the entry have to be archival?

The bEST part of the archival challenges is that you can enter a picture taken (at the latEST) one minute prior to the deadline, if you are the fasEST photo editor ever.

That's what I thought but wanted to check in advance so there's no sHEDding of tears over a DQ. ;-)

I don't remember whose BRIght idea it was to BRIng up archival challenges again; the thought of having to comb the archives for a "good" image which hasn't already been entered makes me BRIstle almost to the point of wanting to throw a BRIck through the monitor.

I must aDMIt I do travel fast however, I'm slowing down a bit today due to a tooth extraction. My aDMIssion brings up the following.. does anyone have experience with implants?

IMP

Only in my hips (I was quite gIMPy before the surgery) but not with dental IMPlants. However, medical technology advances so fast, I wouldn't be surprised if it's now a sIMPle (if expensive) procedure.

Our son knocked his three front teeth out in soccer. It was horrible! He has implants and the only thing that bothers me (or him) about them is the color.

Make SURE you get the color right. Whiten your teeth before and match that. EspreSSO will color them again, but you can re-whiten them. :D

Good point! I'm already lOCKed into a white color my dentist started with crowns and wants to complete so that will be the determining color for implants. Also the extraction was a molar so is basically blOCKed from being seen.

Did your son's dentist make his implants a whiter coLOR than his other teeth? If so, he might want to get porcelain veneers the same coLOR as the implants.

No.. they're actually more gray than his natural teETH. It's sad. I see it every time I look at him. But, he says that no one ever asks about it. So... life goETH on!

You're his mOMMy, why don't you spring for new implant crowns that match his teeth in fact, I would complain to the dentist about it.. he owes your son teeth that match.

Well... yeah, but...

The story goes that we forbade him from playing soccer. (A professional had just died from being hit in the chest with a ball, so we were overly protective, I agree.) He did basketball, football... so many others. Anything and every thing he asked for. And... he did soccer without our knowing it and broke his teeth. They called me with the emergency. I picked him up... and coach said, "Smile for your mother."

My heart broke.

Not that I put a bunch of importance on looks, but he'd just won "Best Looking" and "Best Smile" a few weeks before (high school) and now his three front teeth were done.

I hoped his life wasn't shattered in his mind... they're so young in HS, right?

He took it like a champ!

We paid $26,000 (after insurance) and got him the teeth. He agreed on the color. (and I did, too.)

So... now he's 26 (ten years later). If he wants something more... I support his decision to use his money for that. I mean... REAlly... we did a lot for him already. :D

:D

Well, he CAN'T complain that you didn't take care of him, though how you survived without antidepressANTs (and without giving him a kick in the pANTs) must make for an interesting story in itself.

Ha! He's our most defiant of the four... but really... he wasn't so bad. And he's great now!

I certainly considered kiCKIng his butt several times! LOL! But he's the most wonderful of rooting for our "family team" of six now!

Life is good. Yup! Even when it's not.

WHEn life is that good you should just enjoy it and not worry. We should all be so fortunate. Perhaps Roz had the right idea with her Gratitude SC.. we all need to take a look at what really counts.
