Ray Charles died yesterday. He was one of the pivotal musicians of last century. My favorite songs of his were 'Georgia on my Mind' and 'It's Not Easy Being Green'.

In honor of this great man and talented musician, show us your Blues photos!

My husband was fortunate to have been among those who had met Mr. Charles (albeit briefly), when he and his band opened for him in Oct. 2000.

Great Blues. Great Soul.

One of the first songs I remember learning the words to was his "Hit the Road, Jack." Love that song still! He will be missed.

It's always sad to lose a great musician. Especially since there's so few talented replacements. His music will live on. Most likely in some hip-hop sample :)

What a unique and amazing style Ray Charles had! For decades, he left his imprint, and was always sounding good, always doing HIS thing. That is a rare thing.

His smile always made me happy, too.

With all the talk of putting Ronald Reagan on Mt. Rushmore I think that they should put Ray Charles there instead.

Georgia on my mind has been a favourite of mine too..especially when he does an extra slow rendition. i wish i had more blues shots to share, but the ones posted here are very nice.
