I never enjoy Minimal challenges... but some never enjoy Extended challenges... and I LOVE THOSE!

So... I just play along when I want to... knowing that something will come my way eventually.

I totally lOVE the challenge title... so clever!

FWIW... Here's an idea I floated a while ago on this topic:

I'd like to see an open challenge where the entrant declares what ruleset was used (minimal, standard, or extended). Everyone has the same theme, but your entry needs to declare (in the photographer's comments) your chosen ruleset.

Follow the regular voting process (based on alignment to the challenge and quality of the image). Then see what happens. Photos would be ranked from highest to lowest score, and ribbons would be awarded as always.

In addition a bit of bling could be awarded for top three in each rule set.

I know... I know... the this would be next to impossible for lots of reasons. I just think it would be cool.

As a one-off type event this could be fun. Put in the challenge suggestion bucket!

The Top Three Five would need to be validated on the ruleset they chose to run under - correct?

edit to correct the # of entries with mandatory validation ...

Bring on the minimals, I always shoot Jpeg, I'm crap with P/shop only use Levels & basic tasks. so I enjoy the work that it brings to get it right in camera.

Nobody likes minimal challenges.

It takes me back to the darkroom days. You concentrate on composition BEFORE pressing the button and you live with the results.
