I was in Sheffield, England last week on a business trip and I came across this sign and had to share the photo, does anyone else find this humorous? Or maybe I just have a strange sense of humor...

It would be even funnier if an elderly person was standing under the sign :P

I like signs from other countries. Sometimes they're really unusual.

I'd like to do another "Street Sign" challenge, the last one was pretty fun. Maybe put a "twist" on it this time.

...

Um, us elderly folk. Do we have to use a cane, or can we use our tripods? :)

Hey.... They may not have 20-20 vision. They may not have perfect hearing. They may be slow walkers. So watch out for them.

I'm 63 - probably older than most of you - but asked my Mom a couple month's ago - to define an "old person." Without hesitation she, at 86, promptly replied "Anyone older than me.!"

The best one I've heard is that a TV interviewer asked a 104 year-old-lady what she liked best about being 104. She meekly replied, "No peer pressure."

BTW - I like your sign picture.

Yep, I remember when we didn't trust anyone over 30. Now, I agree with your Mom's definition. Love the sign!!

I have a pic of one of those signs too! We got the giggles because it looks like her hand is on his, um, ah, hmmm... Then we saw the sign on a highway in Scotland. Intrigued, we asked the bus driver if elderly folk crossing the highway was really a big enough problem to warrent a sign. He gave us a blank stare and said, "Yes". God, I love Scotland.

Reminds me of a joke I heard about Alzheimer's disease:

Q: What's the best part of having Alzheimer's?
A: You make new friends everyday.

I thought that was a good one. :)

I don't see what you find so funny about this. All I can say is if you're spending your vacation over this of the Atlantic, don't let the speed of your hire car drop below 30mph when you see this sign or you won't have any hub caps left (and all the mints will have disappeared from your dash). Geriatric crime: keeping the kids off the streets.
