Here's an idea... recognizing that:
- There is a need for a "managed list" in order to maintain some modicum of sanity to the list of potential challenges
- Transparency is a very good thing
- Making things easier is a very good thing
If we were to take the current, managed list and make it viewable by the community, implement a "like button," then allow sorting by various parameters, e.g. "newest first," "Most likes," etc. we would have a way for the community, the SC and Langdon to see what are the most popular challenges. That is not to say that the most popular challenges should always get priority, but it is a tool that might help us manage challenge selection with more user input and less guesswork. |

| if i submit a challenge topic, i want people to comment on it too. just voting wont help anyone improve. |

So, what makes a good challenge subject?
Something interesting you can do with a camera, but not necessarily limited to what the camera does.
Something that allows for variety, so that it's interesting enough to vote on all comps.
Something that doesn't give too much of a competitive edge to those who happen to live in the right place.
Something that encourages good PP skills.
Not hazardous or illegal. |

| For me, a good topic is one that leaves room for interpretation -- is inspiring enough that you want to think about it or is simple enough that you can expand on it. |
