Thanks for stoping by

Q1, can you identify this Rose so I can be seen as 'smart' when I speek to my landlord next?

Q2, can you just see the Rose with a black background? (i.e. no green)

Q3, what do you think of the shot??

Q1, can you identify this Rose so I can be seen as 'smart' when I speek to my landlord next? possibly 'double delight' but I'm not sure it is ....double delight has a very strong sweet rose smell and has dark crimson highlights on a rich creamy background.

Q2, can you just see the Rose with a black background? (i.e. no green) couldn't see any green but to me there were some red edges in the black above the left petal on the side, above the middle right of the top of the rose and lower right left hand side. There were also some smudges in the black at the bottom. Couldn't see any green.

Q3, what do you think of the shot?? I think this is a beautiful rose pic, you've captured the colours and textures ....you can almost smell it....also like the colour against the dark background

I don't know roses, but I know pretty, and that's a pretty shot. I don't see any green in the BG, but there are, like Sue mentioned, some smudges or something toward the bottom left under the rose. I noticed a tad of purple fringing around the center of the flower. Other than that, it's very nice. :o)

Thanks, I just selected this as my desktop and can see what you both mentioned. There was no cloning on this, just played with the levels/contrast.

Your landlord isn't connected with the Royal National Rose Society by any chance? A friend of mine who is the former secretary of it lives in Norfolk ...

Agree with Suemack's comment about the indistinct few petals.

and that's a fine flower portrait, my friend.
