As part of the celebrations of the 60th Anniversary, my home town Falmouth in Cornwall has had a display of military vehicles etc up at Pendennis Castle, Henry VIII's castle overlooking the town.
The strategic importnace of the town meant that thousands of allied troops were stationed here in the weeks before the allied invasion.
Heres a pic of one of the large guns being fired.

and its hard to cover your ears when using a camera.

Earplugs are your friend. And as for the shot-
