Hear hear! Sidpixel has picked up a few of mine recently and I am really grateful! Has led to me playing with the processing on old entries and trying new ways of capturing original images.
Critique Club is such an asset; when I grow up I want to be a member! |

Every once in a while, I check in to see what the folks still active in the Critique club are doing.
Well, here's another exceptional performance by  SidPixel who, as a lone critiquer for the last two weeks, has completed 76 critiques.
Those members who have asked for critiques must be very, very pleased SidPixel is on the job.
Heh Heh, he's moving up so quickly that he will be taking over the leaderboard (from me) pretty soon now. |

I have had the pleasure of receiving several of Sid's critiques and I am so grateful for the feedback and encouragement! We should have a special virtual ribbon or medal for people that complete a certain number of critique club images. Kudos to SidPixel for working so hard to clear the backlog, it is much appreciated! |

| I'm trying to get back into the photo thing after some time away. Maybe I'll try to resume writing critiques. Provided Sid the Kid leaves some for the rest of us! :-) |

But the problem is with the stacks, how do you know the person requesting a critique will even see it? They may be long gone, and I don't like hitting the 'skip' button. |

Send them a PM instead -- if their email is still valid they'll see it, and maybe be inspired to come back ...
Or just hit the new list the day after rollover. :-) |

I may well try it again, I spent some time a few years ago doing critiques and stopped due to the 'apparent' lack of interest of some of those I critiqued. I don't expect much but after spending time writing one and messaging the fotog to let them know quite often they were just ignored.
That said, I'm older and (hopefully) wiser now and truth be told the person giving the critique probably learns more about photography in general than the person receiving it.
Aa for old images I guess the above holds true and giving one regardless of it being seen will help you more :) And, just a thought but if it is really old maybe just say 'Hi from the critique club, would you still like me to critique this?' If they come back you can do it in the image comments and if they don't it's upto you but you have not skipped an image (I hope that is ok to do?). |

Not only that, he's got 85 critiques under his belt in the last two weeks, alone,
and he's still the only one critiquing!

Yup. Click on "Critique Club" from the dropdown menu, then it should show you your "Personal Statistics." |

I just knocked one out, and have no intention of surrendering 6th place without a fight, not after having to work so hard to get there! However methinks Sid the Kid has a leetle more free time on his hands. Still, once he passes me, I do plan to be snapping at his heels ;-) |

OK time for an update. In two hours time the CC will have changed in an incontrovertible way as the mighty 5th-place holder, ambaker, surrenders to the mighty snaffles.
And sidpixel...Just a few words of warning, taken from Gandalf in a LOTR movie: 'You. shall. NOT. pass.'
But you can have fun trying ;-)
ETA: Oh whoa, now ambaker is suddenly back in the game and we're (currently) in a dead heat!. I guess someone tipped him off as to my plans to dominate the CC club. Looks like I have my work cut out for me! Muwahahahaaa....

Thanks Kobba, and I am...c'mon everyone in the CC...this is one of those few situations in life where it's totally win-win.
Critiquing will improve your eye and help your photography, and it also helps out those who request them because they benefit from your knowledge. I've helped a few people win ribbons fer gawds' sake. So if I can do it, so can you. If I can chug out approx 3 critiques a day between now and Dec 31st, I can usurp jmsetzler and take my rightful place in the top 4.
