This may seem obvious to some, but, in the interest of trying to understand the challenge now rather than have my usual post deadline insight, I assume that:
Team Sports without Players:
Challenge Details: Creatively capture the notion of any team sport without photographing the players themselves.
means no players of any kind, and includes no body parts (finger tips, feet kicking a last minute field goal, arms stretching for the try line, etc.)
Does that fit the general interpretation?
Thanks
Bill M.

Referees/umpires are not players. Of course, who knows how the voters will respond...

I am still trying to figure out my voting on the Light Sources challenge. I didn't enter, but I am not sure "what meets the challenge" after reading the posts. The sports at least sounds more straight forward???? I took it as you described, which leaves me out! (Don't do sports. LOL)

I have a similar question. I have a great photo for this challenge, but it does include some part of the player, not a large part, but it does include something, such as a body part (foot, hand, eye, etc.) Would this be permissable? It doesn't include "the players themselves" as the rules state, so do you think it would be ok? Thanks

I'm almost at a loss for this one, and I have two kids in sports right now! I have thought of every available piece of sports equipment in my home, but someone had already mentioned the # of lighted sports balls that we would have would probably be immeasurable, and I really don't want to do something trite or BORING. I hope I am inspired in the next 24 hours or so! ;o)

Laurie,
Wow that's hard to believe (that you are at a loss!) As soon as I saw the challenge posted, I though of your entry for centered, "right up the middle!"
My bet would be that you come up with something - and it will be darn good too.

Thanks, Tom! I thought of that picture as well, and thought, "Great...now what can I do???" I'll figure something out. I haven't missed a challenge yet (since I joined), and I'm not about to start now! This will be a down-to-the-wire entry. :o)

I am probably not going to enter this challenge so I'll give out some ideas:
fan/parent reactions
nutty fans (the body painters etc)
angry ref
angry coach/manager
showers/locker room after the game
concession workers
cheerleaders
mascot (like the great example shown earlier in this thread)

I finally got an idea! I even got it to work halfway close to what I wanted. Now, the question is will it fly????
I am very surprised that there are only 38 submissions, counting me just now. Guess it's due to the holiday and graduations and the like. I can't wait to see the entries...this will be fun! :o)

I knew you'd pull one off. I too just selected "Team Sports" and posted it along with my "Three's". Good luck - maybe we can get in the top 50 if there are only 50 entries.

Yeah, you did. It's a great shot! I haven't gotten that creative with lighting just yet. I just wonder what all will be represented in this challenge. I used up my lighted ball for the centered challenge. :o)
