RE: The catch is, the phone has to be in plain sight once it's found; little corners of a phone peeking out won't cut it.
please clarify if the phone has to be flat, e.g., you can see the whole rectangular screen, or if a phone in side view is going to pass muster... the latter is still the entire phone, not just little corners, but is certainly easier to hide and would seem in my mind to be more amenable to various compositions.

and could you clarify the misspelling of "find"? Is there some clever pun I'm missing? |

The description is what it is. The voters will let you know if a side-view is acceptable to them :-) It's not a DQable offense, that's for sure... |

thank you for clarification that a side view is not a DQ offense
it's always up the viewers whether a specific challenge interpretation is valid or not, right? |

From the Greek "phi", by way of Latin, yes. In old Latin, it was a harder sound, though, more like our "p" than "ph" as we know it... |

Apparently, Tate, the ancient Latin folks named their cellphones with PH because of their elders.
That's all I got from it.

No DQs for descriptory denials. Heck, why not hide a rotary phone? |

Because the challenge says "cellphone". Of course, that's not a DQable choice either :) |

Phunny challenge.. Hope no one phlips out and calls phowl over the scores.
Odd that you should mention ancient phones. The one I had before getting my first smart phone had roman numerals on the keys.
When I got a text, a little stone tablet would pop out of it. Yes, the ancient Greeks had them. They would import them from Phonecia.
My wifey would be a great helper with hiding my phone, she can hide hers in 20 seconds so well that it takes us three days to find it. : ) |
