I was inspired by the challenge suggestion (The Story) created by Jules1x.

Here's an exercise. Photos from the last 5 challenges - 6th place and next to last. I picked those because they don't get as many views as their 1st-5th and Brown Ribbon neighbors.

If you were to derive a story from these, what would it be? In this case it may be a little easier given the general concept (Challenge theme and titles). Some photos may instantly communicate a story, others perhaps not at all. That's part of this exercise. After all, isn't every photo supposed to tell a story? The old cliche - 'A photo is worth a thousand words'. Yes? No?

I'd suggest that if you are moved to write the story you imagine from the following images that you also post them to the comment area of that photo (please?). Thanks! :-)

That was interesting (and I'll admit a little confusing). I had never looked into those threads much - I see now that those are primarily a story told with multiple images strung together. Thanks for mentioning those. :-)

Is it more challenging to tell a story with one photo? Pointing back to the referenced challenge suggestion thread; that's what was proposed.

I was inspired by GeneralE's Gem which I found fascinating and mysterious. Very hard to probably really tell a full story with one image, but a story can definitely by suggested.

This is a great idea, it would be truly interesting voting on a challenge like this, instead of being guided in a direction we can just get lost and linger.

One-Way Ticket Home

I suspect the story/associations may have been more obvious with some additional editing, but I've been trying to submit Minimally-edited pictures when I can ...
