I dunno, but I know I'm raising a toast to you. :-)

ROFL... You really are so thick as to not even be able to tell when someone is ridiculing you. That's awesome, great work bohemka.

I'll reserve my final judgement for now, but consider this notice that I'm seriously considering just ignoring you. (and that would be a first here, after 7 years here, so that's pretty egregious).

Oh, nooooooo!!! The FINAL JUDGEMENT??? You're....{{gulp}} gonna "consider"......you're gonna {{gasp}} IGNORE ME?? I'm.....{{wail}} dealing....oh, GOD....with...EGREGIOUS???

Yeah..... and with that, I'm done. You're genuinely useless and pedantic. Have a great life. (although, I genuinely doubt that's possible... I'll 'pray' for whatever man/men you victimize in real life, can't even imagine the joy.)

What options are left at this juncture... tree bark, insects, moss... surely there is something out there right?

I knew a medical student who maintained a "non-kill" diet -- basically you have to eat parts of the plants which are "shed" naturally, so it's mostly ripe fruits (many "vegetables" are botanically fruits) and grains/seeds/nuts. As I remember his typical lunch was oatmeal and a dill pickle ...

I think the Jains wear a mask over their mouths so as to not accidentally consume any insects, and walk along gently sweeping their path so as to not step on any ...

That really is beautiful but just way too limiting for me.

Actually, you are very much mistaken in this regard. Mind you, when one considers all of the conjectures you have made thus far, that is not in the least surprising.

Played you say...yes, not unlike a series of sitars at an Indian music competition.

Not unlike Cory, I also considered a vegetarian type lunch until I read this article that stated that plants have feelings and that they can actually hear us eating them. It also has been said that if you listen very closely, you can hear them screaming.

Insects have feeling too

I'm waiting for the FDA to stop considering "insect parts" as a contaminant and to start requiring they be listed as "added protein" on the ingredients list ...

Somebody do something... all I keep hearing is the sound of incessant sitar sounds being strummed in a seemingly incessant streaming. :O)

Have a great day,

I once sat in at an impromptu session with Ravi Shankar when he visited Brown University (this would have been maybe 1966, 67? Somewhere in there...) I played the Tablas (Indian drums, played by hand/finger) and he followed along, improvising on my improvisations. Supposedly, it was very unusual :-) I wouldn't know, since I couldn't hear it. Everyone was stoned. Someone made a tape, which I had for a long time, but it deteriorated. It was a wonderful evening...

People got stoned... did they run afoul of some religious tenet? :O)

"Total absence of humor renders life impossible."
- Colette (1873 - 1954)

"A taste for irony has kept more hearts from breaking than a sense of humor, for it takes irony to appreciate the joke which is on oneself."

the suspect clearly didn't understand he was supposed to wait for the victim to get his gun out and be in position to defend himself.

Been a while since Ive been on here but I just saw this...

Concealed weapons seem to work in Detroit. There it seems more guns less crime
08/21/2015 11:31:05 PM · #519
An interesting opinion of "success" given that crime in Detroit has been declining in every major category EXCEPT gun violence, which has risen and continues to rank as among the worst in the nation. Empirical evidence says concealed carry has the opposite effect, and the assistant police chief attributes the lower crime rates to removing an average of 8 guns per night.
08/21/2015 11:40:24 PM · #520
That Detroit article *may* prove that if you live in a lawless environment with a lot of aggressive people who themselves all pack guns, you are better off if you carry as well. It says squadoosh about desirability of an armed citizenry in a civilized environment.

Adam, you pop in so infrequently because you only post stuff that supports your view.

Other news today:

Father killed by his two-year-old.

16-year-old accidentally shoots himself in leg and lives.

22-year-old accidentally shoots himself in leg and dies.

Friend shoots friend.

One-minute search.

Nah, it's just the police chief's personal opinion. The crime rate in Detroit had already been dropping for years before concealed carry was implemented, so the only result of more guns and concealed carry was that gun violence increased despite crime decreasing in every other category. Shocker. The same thing happened in Chicago, too. A criminology professor at Northeastern University had a rather different explanation: improved police tactics and the rise of cell phone cameras have made it much more likely that bad guys will get caught.

Stanford vs FOX. Hmmmm, who to trust?

Someone quotes FOX News and expects to be taken seriously? (pssstt......Adam, qualified and respected fact-checkers established long-ago that FOX tells you the truth 18% of the time. Did you not get the memo?)

More credible news from FOX....and they refuse to take it down, suckahs!

It's in their archives because they reported it. What do you mean, "take it down"?
