FIE! Andy Warhol was brilliant. But there's the age-old saying, "A may not know about art, but I know what I like, " so I'll forgive you (:D :D :D just so you know I'm kidding!)

They had a elephant here at the local zoo paint a picture. He used a broom over a canvas. It sold for 40,000.00
The idea was brilliant! the guy who bought the painting/art was an idiot. But I'm sure it looked nice in his apartment.

Andy Warhol has been too well established as one of the great artist of the 20th century to keep using these types of comparisons. How familiar with his work are you, really, to make that kind of analogy?

I'm not trying to get into a beef (I was just about to post a complement on your Goat pic, actually) but this kind of blanket dismissal of Warhol as an artist is very typical of people who don't really have a clue about his work. He had an amazing work ethic, for one thing. But this argument could go on forever (and has) and I don't want to get too prickly about it.

But what I was about to say was, "I really liked your Goat photo for Centered. It stood out in my memory."

Here's my goat pic:

Yes; But how is your banana picture doing Dave?
That is the painful question.

Thank you Dave! It's nice of you to say.

My banana is doing well. My Unusual Viewpoint is doing poorly.

Right back atcha. You've been one of my favorites for a long time now.
I particularly loved your ox for the Chinese Zodiac challenge.

Or find an elephant to snap the picture for you...I wonder if I got an elephant to take my pictures if they would be worth 40 grand? :o)

I suffer from scarcasm to an extreme. (it's not always easy to pick-up on over the internet, so some just think I'm a jerk) My comment is actually symbolic of what is all too often typical. The old "give it a 1" mentality. lets not bother to look at it with an open mind.

I do actually like some of Andy Warhol's work, But it wouldn't do well on DPC. ;)

Great shot!
Thanks for the comment on my goat Melismatica.
My "goat" for the centered challenge was fun to do. I entered it knowing it wouldn't do well, but I like it. (so you see its not always for the ribbon) I went into a panic after the challenge closed because I wasn't sure if it's a goat or a sheep.
But my banana picture............ It's just wrong. This is one I'd let them DQ, but its probably the only picture they won't request proof from me. (just my luck) :/

I'm actually very sarcastic but I always avoid it on message boards because I'm almost always misunderstood. Unfortunately, even when I'm not trying to be sarcastic, people get angry with me because I tend to state things pretty bluntly. I'm not tactful, to say the least.

Well....maybe his flower silkscreens. (read: sarcasm intended ;D)

You know...it is a sheep. I hadn't even noticed! You could have called it "Bovine" I think, because cattle, antelope, sheep, and goats all fall into the family Bovidae (I looked it up...I did not have that info at my fingertips).

:( How do you like that!
My goat is a sheep,
I find out my OX in the Zodiac challenge is a cape buffalo,
And an elephant can paint a picture worth $40,000.00 but my banana picture is worthless. Here's what I'll do:

Thanks to Melismatica, I would like to dedicate this incredible work of art (my goat/sheep picture) to the memory of Andy Warhol, Andy Kaufman, Andy Rooney and Raggedy Andy.

I second that, too. :-) Though I haven't submit, because of lack of time, but noone rushed on my idea with a banana cover on the head. :-) Or did someone? There are so many creative ideas. :-) I love this challenge! :-)
