OK, so with the deja vu challenge, I get the idea from a photographer's point of view, but what I'm missing is if the goal is to pick a ribbon winner and "try to emulate it as closely as possible!", how are we not required to include either a link to or the name of the original inspiration with our entry? It would be one thing if it was "Inspired By" but this is an emulation and I while I understand that it's impossible to include a link to the original with the entry during voting I would think that for those judging who wanted to see the differences it would be nice to not have to hunt it down on our own. Perhaps require at least the challenge name in the title in parens or something like "From Free Study 2015-02". |

On the last one I put it in the title:

I am trying to understand this as well and just don't get it.
looks like another one to skip.. due to funerals, I don't have time to go through all the past challenges and look to see which one to even "try" to copy unless it was expert and we can try to beat Christophe, but that won't happen either LOL
It would be a fun challenge to do the style of "christophe" The only thing that is deja vu to me is that today is actually friday when I thought friday was yesterday LOL
Have fun on this one folks :-)

Looking back at some of the previous Deja Vu challenges, the results are quite fun ...
However, I don't think I ever entered one. But I'm proud to say one of my images was copied =)
Edit to add: As always, if voters are likely to recognize a very popular tribute to a photo and if they are likely to "get it", they might score accordingly regardless of title. If you are copying a less well-know photo, it might be a good idea to mention the photographer or image name.

Why not use the same title as the original, reasonably easy to find it with the search tool on the left of the front page... |

That's all I'm looking for. It just wasn't a part of the description anywhere as being required and my point was that it might be a good idea to add that(?) |

Well, we've had problems with that before because then some voters go all medieval on any image that doesn't heed that title provision. We're hoping everyone will relax this time around and take it in good spirits. |

Is there an easy way to see all of the ribbon-winning images all in one list... instead of searching through each challenge... or through the challenge archives? All in one list?
Nevermind... it's pretty easy to page through after clicking on Challenge Archives.

I liked previous versions of "Deja Vu" that gave us the choice of either copying or poking fun at the ribbon winner. Those were fun to view! |

Is anyone else viewing the ribbon-winning images... grouped together and playing the "what's the challenge topic?" game?
So much fun!
I might just keep playing this game and not shoot.
Truly. TOO Much FUN!
