jomari I liked the pop of color and creative scene.

MadMan2k I liked the main fish subject and thought the whole scene was interesting.

PaulG13 I liked the pattern and great focus on a central fish.

by blanceric. 9 from me.
Lovely creatures, great framing and color, and this is the only way anybody should shoot them. :)

I liked that one also, but didn't understand the impact that shutter speed had on it (fast or slow). ???

Capturing them in an open environment, stationary, with no motion blur, both looking at the camera. It wouldn't be the same image if the shutter was open longer causing a flicker in an ear, or a turning head. Seeing them may not be as uncommon as seeing a drop of water "frozen in time, hovering above a glass", but the impact of the shutter speed is a clean picture of something beautiful.

Plus two 10's that finished well but did not make the front page.

Do I sense a theme in all these? I loved the muted tones, the delicate almost Oriental feel, the quietness, the semi-abstraction and/or minimalism.
