Expert/advanced
Providing the viewer with a much wider viewing angle than they would typically see, either from a photo, or their eyes. You can create small panoramas, merging just three photos, or go the full 360, and produce miniature globes |

Sounds fun.
I like the 'little planet' ones, kind of fun. There's an app for the iPhone which I bought that does it in the phone. |

The mini-planets come out best if you start with a full 360 degree panorama. You get a nice round planetball doing it that way.

DPC How-To article
I'm not sure about mixing those with traditional panos in the same challenge though ...
There's also a variation on the technique for creating Ringworlds ...

This is a challenge idea whose time is *long* overdue... I had lobbied, during my time on SC, to include panos within the Advanced ruleset when we modified it to include multiple captures. Langdon wanted to reserve that for special challenges, though. Unfortunately we have never had one of those special challenges, mostly, I think, because the previous limits on size would have resulted in prohibitively small images. At this point, with the 1200px limit, I don't even think we would necessarily need an exception to the size limit. Let's get this done!
To add, I think the "little planet" idea is deserving of a separate challenge in itself.

Pano's are fun but they don't look so hot on DPC. |

Awesome, I think the 360 needs to be included in this challenge and leave it as as an option or maybe perhaps just change the title to it to the "little planets" or do a split challenge where they can choose one or the other of the panorama or the 360
