Been way busy but still planning on being there. Slight change in the plan: Dragging hubby AND the kids now & sending them to the zoo :)

To all those that cancelled....YOUR LOSS!! hahaha
We had a grrrreat time! Think we were 10 in all. A perfect # to roam around as 1 group. The morning fog burned off & it turned into a BEAUTIFUL (although somewhat hot) day. It stayed a bit hazy, but workable.
Daisy played tour guide since she lives in the area & walked our butts off through 1/2 of Central Park. If you enjoy people watching & getting candid shots, Central Park is DEFINITELY the place to do it. That's why I'll probably toss the majority of the images I shot, but them were a few gems! I am used to slowly roaming around lighthouses alone & taking my time a bit more...not to mention they DON"T MOVE! :o) I thoroughly enjoyed everyone's company & the opportunity to do something outside my norm. We had a blast & laughed our way through the day.
After making sure I hooked up with everyone else, Hubby took the 3 kids to the zoo for the day & it's seems a good time was had all around. The whole drive home I was filled in on their adventures of petting lamas, watching polar bears eat huge fish, scaring flocks of pigeons, ducking into the penguin building every so often to cool off in the A/C & witnessing monkeys do things they should have gotten a room for! lol The 7 yr old was already asking when we'd be going back to Central Park since there was TONS more they never got to see.
Too friggin tired to make all adjustments now & post, but I will definitely do it as soon as I can.

I'm glad you guys had such a great time! Central Park is such a gold mine of photo ops. I'm very sorry I missed this, but I can't wait to see all the pictures.

Great shots, digital!
Had a great day up in NYC...I am beat but it was well worth the trip! Great meeting you all and big thanks to our tour guide, Daisy77. Wow and cameras! What a great thing to see all the shots on site and the styles of each of you all. Great learning technique and I cannot wait for another. Hope everyone gets to try one of these....even the Icelanders! ;) You can't help but learn or pick up a tip or two (or, in my case, 70 or 80).
PS thanks Shoff for getting this going and sticking with it!

It would be nice to have a seperate forum for meets, organazed by the area (maybe we have one, of course and I am just being clueless).

Aside from the nasty sunburn I aquired... I had a great day. Thanks to shoff for starting the link, Daisy77 as Julie McCoy and all the tourists... myself included. (native NYer). Have not sorted thru all my shots yet, but posted at least one. No worries Terrygee.

Thanks for the e mails Ryan....definitely hoping for another trip soon :)
Bronx sounds good, but would really love coney island and the brooklyn bridge!

I have some of my photos up now here.
I took about 400(nothing new for me) so I have barely touched the surface with these:)
