if you could have any ONE body and any THREE lenses to go with it, and they all magically worked together perfectly, what would they be? Like the Nikon XX body with the Sigma XX and the Canon XX and the ??XX... |

Nikon D4
AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED
AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8E FL ED VR
AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
though, in my searching for a large-scale telephoto lens, i came across something that had me splitting my side laughing, the Sigma 200-500mm f/2.8 APO EX DG
google search it - the reviews and user "photoshopped" photos are well worth your time!

My three lenses would have to be a macro lens
Telephoto lens 75-300
My all around walk around lens 18-135
I will be set!
Right now its my Nikon, but in the next few months it will be all Pentax |

Canon 5D3
16-35L i'd really like the sigma 35mm art, but this is more versatile
85/1.2L, gotta have a 85mm
135/2L, gotta keep my favorite lens.

The more I think about it, the more I'd like to evolve into the Leica M-Monochrom plus:
Leica Summilux-M 24mm f/1.4 ASPH
Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH
Leica APO-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 ASPH
Which adds up to about $35,000, give-or-take :-) |

Tell ya what Clive. You're 41, I'm about to turn 68. So you send me, let's say, $18,000. I'll buy the kit and hold on to it for, say, 5 years. Then send it to you for the next 5 years. Then, if I'm still compos mentis, I get it for the NEXT 5 years, and so forth. That work for you?

I'll consider this.
But only if you agree to eat at least one pound of bacon per day from here on out. Totally a win-win right? ;) |

Sure, IF we change the terms slightly: you pay the 18K to me, I eat a pound of bacon or other Fried Pork Product a day, and I keep the camera 'til I die, then Penny sends it to you :-) |

You'd cheat with surgery and drugs. ;) |

i'd be apt to go with these lenses, not sure about the camera body.
but might change the 28mm to the 17-40 or 16-35.
i'd miss the 70-200 though.
