I was at 6.11 with 16 votes the the skies opened up and I'm at 5.59 with 22 votes.

| wow. i'm really surprised to see not a single photo of the 9/11 light tribute. i was thinking of shooting that, since it is visible right down my street in brooklyn. but i was sure that since this challenge overlapped the anniversary, there would be tons of those and it would get lost. well, i've learned a lesson. you can't win a contest with a photo you don't take. |

Skyscapes II: Fascinating assignment.
Still, it seems to me that some "anchoring" to earth - however you interpret that - was important to define the sky. There were some pure-sky images that were notable but without some affiliation to the ground they seemed less strong than those images that had earth integrated - again, an interpretive opinion. |
