Hey all

I bought a lens off of ebay last week. Expected delivery timeframe between August 6th-19th. I get an email saying that it has been delivered and sure enough the tracking history shows that it is Ogdensburg, awaiting pickup at the UPS store.

But, whenever I check the trackogdensburg site to confirm that it's there...it isn't in their system!!! So WTF exactly is going on? Anyone have any experience actually working for UPS? I really don't want to have to make an unnecessary trip across an international border, pay crossing fees and answer stupid questions all for nothing.

I'd call... do they give a number?

Sent them an email with the tracking number, so far just got a typical bounce-back re their hours, closed holidays blahblahblah and, oh yes, to go check trackogdensburg to see if my parcel is ready for pickup!!!!

According to the postal service, the lens has been delivered and awaiting pickup; according to UPS, it isn't. Somewhat annoyed as I need that lens by next weekend, and don't want to have to go scampering across the border Saturday morning!

The Ogdensburg UPS is great. Give them a call. It will get answered before an e-mail. When you do go make sure your gas tank is on low and what you save on the gas will more than cover the bridge toll!

What you really need to determine is as follows:

When the USPS tells you it has been delivered, are they saying it has been delivered to the UPS Store or to the USPS facilities in Ogdensburg... there is a difference.

Also, assuming the item was delivered on say Friday afternoon, chances are that the item has not yet been entered in the UPS data base.

If you want I can call them on Monday for you... and let you know.

Too bad I did not know of this earlier... I just got back.

Tata for now.
