No he really isn't here. However I'm on vacation in Myrtle Beach and there is an art museum next to the resort we are at displaying his work. Has anyone been to it and seen it? I really want to go, but taking time away from my family for something that is "just for me" usually isn't my style on vacations. But I'd really hate to miss a once in a lifetime chance to see his work in person.

Don't you and your family go to art museums etc on vacation? Why is this any different?
And of course your family would in any case want to do things that are for you as well. |

I'd send the family to the beach and go to the museum. I hate sand. |

I should add my wife and I drove up to Glens Falls to see an Ansel Adams exhibit there. (And she's not into photography.)
It was a different exhibit though. Not his best, but interesting:

There were also some really great photos by other photographers there too. |

Neil, the art museum doesn't have an accessible entrance. It has about 20 steps to get up in it. Since my son is wheelchair bound entrance for them isn't possible.

Very weird; I Googled "handicapped accessible ramp requirements", and the first thing that came up was requirements for SC.

If you've never seen an Ansel Adams exhibit, you've GOT to. It's a transformational experience if you're the least bit into B&W photography especially. The the luminosity of the prints has to be seen to be believed.
ETA: Just realized it's the Museum Set! You've GOT to go!

Since the ADA passed, that just isn't possible for an organization that lives on grants. A gymnasitc club or a horse ranch might not be wheelchair acessable (meaning every part is reachable by a single person in a chair with no help) but an art museum has to be compliant. The web site for the Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum says "Accessibility: Elevator access at ground floor under the building (call button activated). Wheelchair available on request. Handicap parking in front of the Museum. "
Do a fly by to make sure that it won't be too much of a hassle for your son before you show up with the whole family, but as Robert said, if you haven't seen his prints, you haven't seen Adams, and his Museum sets are just amazing. |

The museum is on the coast. Requirements for building when it was built means it's a stilt building, no bottom floor. All steps to get in, it does have an Elevator, however currently broken awaiting parts according to the person I spoke to about getting in.

If your family will forgive you for indulging your passion for a bit, try to go. A show came to SD and we just happened upon it. I was really impressed and found myself some new favorite art. |

Well we got some rain here today, so I scampered off for 45 minutes and saw the exhibit. It's Free by the way, only donations are asked for. I bought a reproduction of one of the prints on display. It was certainly a good decision to go. Seeing his stuff in person is a must do. |
