This is the first time I've tried to embed a clickable thumbnail, so hopefully it works. I was very attached to this image for the Centered challenge, but my family just grimaced. I ended up going with one one the ones they liked better. Any honest and blunt feedback would really be appreciated!! Well . . . that didn't work. If anyone is so inclined, it is the photo "Center of Earth" in my Portfolio. Thanks

Your welcome.
kylie all fixed. I like the simplicity of the shot, and the negative space. It just looks a bit too bright for my taste.

I agree, nice composition. I think it might look more centered if the bright edge on the upper right were placed in the middle - that's what my eye is drawn to at least.

it's a nice shot but based on my own experience in this challenge it likely would not have done well. it is indeed centered but the bright flare off the top right surface and the large amount of empty space (which i like, by the way) might lead to lower marks.

I think I am starting to get a feel for what "rates" well here, which sometimes does and many times doesn't agere with my personal taste. I am pretty certain abstract/pop art looks aren't received well. I guess the question is whether you care about the scores. Thanks, Daisy77, for the part about what would be seen as a flaw might appeal to some. Thanks!

Now, if you ever get a feel for what "rates" here, will you let the rest of us know? LOL! Everytime I think I have it figured out they taste change.

I like the shot but the blow out on the right side is very distracting overall. Negative space scores very well around here if done well, one of my favorite shots of all time is filled with negative space:

It was the first one I added as a favorite.

Good luck!

Maybe we should just satisfy our own tastes then . . . . while learning to express them better & better. But if I get the official DPC Scoring Manual of Tastes, I will let you know!! LOL
