Always had a lot of respect for Adobe. Used Photoshop since 1996 or so.
But since Creative Cloud, they have lost their way, can't get out of their own way. They are dead to me, now. |

I'm using CC and loving its. Steady updates, lots of learning resources, LR5 is part of the deal, 10 bucks a month is in line what I averaged over time buying upgrades. |

Does the offer require you to have purchased an earlier CS license? I've just got Elements. |

THAT part's new: before, you had to have a CS3 or newer license to qualify. This particular offer expires tomorrow night.
"Requires an annual commitment with monthly billing. Available for purchase through 9pm PST on March 31, 2014 from Adobe.com only."
So once you buy in, you're in for 12 months with monthly billing. |

The did this earlier (check the date of the thread) and it was only available for a short time. So who knows if this is the last offer, or if they'll do it again.)
My concern is that I already purchased the stupid cs6 and spent that money! So they're not giving me the updates, but I'd be continuing to pay for most of what I already have. Which seems stupid.
But it sounds like the cc works faster, and I'd almost be willing to pay for that.
Is there really any reason to do this, if I already own cs6 (and don't use lightroom?)

Well, the CS6 you bought is the basic version, and CC is the "extended" version, meaning (among other things) that it has the "stacking" capability that basic CS6 lacks, meaning you can do cool things with that... |

I do have something available under scripts "load files into stack". Isn't that the stacking?
(actually, moving this over to the new thread I just created, because others might have more to say. The problem is this thread doesn't generate as specific info, since people know it's advertising for the price...) |

For anyone that is/does upgrade and needs to learn Lr...I've found Anthony Morganti's tutorials on YouTube to be comprehensive and very easy to listen to. I've had Lr for years but never used it this way...so It's been a good find for me...Find his first episode and start there...lots of little tricks that I didn't know about.
And just for the record the cloning/healing tool in Lr5 is my favorite tool...it's where I do my heavy cloning/healing. With small polishing in Ps... |

Well -- I didn't bite. I figured that putting the money into an SSD would probably speed things up faster than cc. We'll see if I regret it in the future... |

Well, I did bite. I've been working with CS4 for a few years now and it was just too tempting. First impressions are that I love the interface on CS6 so much more than 4. I like this version of Bridge better as well and I'm excited to try out LR which I've never used.
I dropped HBO which was $20 a month and got this for $10 so I saved money. That's what I tell the wife anyway so she doesn't hit me with a baseball bat for spending more money on photography stuff. |

Oh, for SURE the SSD is gonna speed things up. CC may be incrementally faster than CS6, but not so you'd really notice. It's the bells and whistles and upgrades that set it apart. I got an SSD, you know that right?
