That's what I thought at first, but they're usually on a ring of some sort, and just one strap not two.

Pfffft... Shudda gone with my gut, but it's like no strop I have ever whetted a blade on, I can tell you THAT :-)

Woot! I'll get something up in a little while. Been a while since I came up with one, forgot I need to have stuff in queue!
I've never seen one like this either, but the only ones I'm really familiar with are the ones that old school barbers use, which look like what Robert describes.

Belt takeoffs on a drill press?

Nope, and nope. Quite cold, both of these guesses...

Nope... very creative guess, but pretty much as far off as the others!
One clue: although it looks like it should move, in use it does not do so.

In general, yes. Can you provide more detail?

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. Kinda does look like that, but no.

I'll take the generic "heat sink" answer. It's actually a heat sink that mounts on top of a microprocessor. Just couldn't resist posting another heat sink ;-)

Next time clean that stuff up a bit please. Thanks.

I was going to guess that it was a double nipple polisher for robot nipples, but I guess not since it doesn't move. I suppose I could have guessed a heat sink for a robot nipple polisher!

Well, it's a Scleractinia, like a brain coral, a rock-like coral, but exactly which one I do not know.
02/05/2014 12:33:04 AM · #6248
How about a fossil of a Rugose coral, the ancestors of the Scleractinians? Common in the vast central sea beds of, say, Oklahoma :-)

I agree fully with your assessment. :)

Wouldn't have required more than Scleractina. :D
