Has anyone used Sandisk "Extreme" Compact Flash Cards??

They claim "60x" writing speeds.

Lexar has some 80x models now.

Yup, I have a 1GB Sandisk Extreme card. But my Rebel cannot take full advatage of the speed. So in my case it is the camera that's the limiting factor. Although it will definitely write faster to it that to a regular Sandisk card, the difference is not very big, in the order of a couple of seconds.

What 'rating' do they give the CF ports in the 300D?

At what speed can THEY write?? (kiloBITS per second)

And would the 10D be any different?

That is why I decided to get the Microdrive instead. I typically don't need to shoot more than 3 shots in succession, usually for bracketing. So I went for max storage over write speed. My cameras buffer will handle up to 5 shots in the high speed autodrive mode. With the 4 gig microdrive I get over 500 RAW images on one disk.

(editted for spelling)

What kind of cards do you prefer for your 10D mags?

i dont have a specific brand. i've had good luck with lexar, ibm microdrive, kodak brand, and even 'mr. flash'. just not sandisk.

I also have a 1GB Sandisk Extreme card. So far, I have never had a single problem with it. It's plenty fast enough to keep up with my 10D. However, the Sandisk Ultra II cards are just as fast and co$t less. The Extreme cards are supposedly designed for more extreme temperature ranges (-13 to +185 degrees), and they also have a lifetime warranty.
