I can't quite believe it, but - I've done absolutely nothing different from my normal routine all week to shoot for Something New. I've had no creative inspiration and I'm devoid of any freshness in my life in the last 7 days whatsoever. The weather's crap (gloomy, featureless cloud or rain) so I couldn't even take a nice shot of anything outside and I've had no spare time to travel further afield or to dedicate to special set-ups. Dull, dull, dull - so I'm sitting it out - again. I have had loads of fun - but not with my camera. ;)

Anyone else have a similar spell of nothingness? I really could have done with a challenge called 'Tedium' 'Urban Monotony' or 'Normality' this week.

no -- nothing like that -- it must be you. ;)

now, if nothing isn't usual than shooting some boring part of today would be something new, yes? Trick is to make Tedious Urban Normality into an interesting shot. If anyone can it's you!

try shooting your big toe. I bet you haven't shot that before and draw a smiley face on your toe nail for added fun. lol

i went out yeserday in hopes of geting a few good shots, but I am not pleased with any of them so I may sit this one out as well, or I will submit one at the last minute and beg for mercy

Seriously, I have had a crappy spell as well, just take a look at my recent scores and you'll know what I mean. Even the abstract is in the 4's. I might actually have a chance with urban monotony, wow.

I am still kinda curious to see how the voting goes for something new II. I mean, there's nothing OBVIOUSLY new in the shot, but it is something that I haven't taken a picture of in a place I certainly haven't.

finaly had an idea today (6 days of ho hum what do I do)
when to my first rugby Leage game
tried to get some action sport shots (never tried before)
brought back 157 images
NOTHING :(
Auto focus just can't keep up with the game.. managed to get good hits and touch downs framed properly but the focus was not there and couldn't resurrect them
will sit this one out too

My thoughts exactly! We drove around for three hours this afternoon, and I took 89 pictures of various places in our county that I had never shot before (some of them I'd never SEEN before, and that's SAD!), and I really don't like any of them. But I will wind up submitting something in the end...I just hope it's not too painful!

I too had a hard time with this challenge but this afternoon after lessons I grabbed the kids, made some sandwiches and took off on roads never traveled before looking for something I've never shot before and I FOUND IT! It's common around here but I have never shot it before and I LIKE it and the way it came out so that is all that counts!

Still a HARD Challenge, thanks DPC!
