For the past 2 nights, rocky raccoon has come thieving from my bird feeders.
The first night he climbed the shepherds hook, dangled off the feeder until the wires it hangs by broke. All the seed spilled out onto the ground.
Repaired the feeder and rehung it.
Last night I sensed something was outside in the pitch black by my feeders again. I shined a light and sure enough rocky was back and just starting to climb towards the goods. I ran outside and scared him off......repeatedly as he kept coming back. I finally thought I had won as he stayed away for the two hours before I went to bed.
I woke up today to find he returned and drank all the hummingbird food.
grrrrrr
Today I borrowed a live trap from the landlord. I bet Rocky enjoys peanut butter. lol
Once I catch him I'll have to decide who has pissed me off the most lately and turn him loose in their yard. j/k

Let me give you a word of advice...Once you catch him.....shoot him. Coons are extremely mean... I had a prob with them and caught 1 alive... As I released him he tried to get me...The next one I caught I took him to the country and shot him with a .22. It is really for your safety

actually the landlord will be 'dispatching' him as we live on a vineyard and raccoons love grapes.
I could put him down myself then have fun dissecting him. Could get a really cool FS shot.

I did that once, sorta anyway. Found a pile of guts. Got a posthumous recognition from both!! DeSousa and Don.

Maybe Ray can take a SP nude of him holding the raccoon tail hat on the front side. It'll make him look huge!

So far the squirrel has shown great interest, but finally gave up on trying to break into the trap. As soon as it gets a bit darker I'll open the door for Rocky raccoon.

Yay! Are they coming to get him first thing? You might have to throw a rug over the cage. Hoe he wasn't part of a gang! |

Got him. Landlord will come take care of him in the morning.
Since it's raining outside, I put a thick cardboard over the crate held down with a large rock. |

Hah! someone should throw a rug over my cage! The reason I was hoping was, raccoons are not exactly solitary animals. As your photo illustrates.
